San Francisco Locations To Show Your Home Some Love

July 2, 2018

With your engagement session, one of the first things you want to establish is what locations you want to capture. The San Francisco metro offers some unique and stunning backdrops for romantic engagement photos that show off the city that you love. With so many options, it can be difficult to lock down a concept around where you want to shoot. However, with your consultation with Avery Wong Photography, we will select the perfect backdrop for your dream photos.

I Lost My Heart In San Francisco

Classic San Francisco

The Ferry Building is a classic San Francisco staple and serves as a unique location that makes for gorgeous city-focused engagement photos. The outer architecture is very recognizable, but the interior shops are also great spots for fun pictures! Between eating a scoop of ice cream on a bench to enjoying the farmers market on Sunday, we can capture your couple personality utilizing all of the aspects of the Ferry Building. San Francisco iconic location turned romantic setting for engagement photos!

Looking At Love From A New Angle

Quirky Angles

One of the great aspects about using a commonly known site, like an SF location, is showing a different angle that makes it uniquely you. At the Palace of Fine Arts, we took the stairs and used them as a focal point for the shot. This created a dynamic angle and aspect that showed the unique nature of the couple and still highlighted a San Francisco treasure.

Subtle Hints of San Francisco

Not looking to highlight your local stomping grounds in a big way? Why not show your San Francisco pride in a subtle way? The Japanese Tea Garden allows for a greenery inspired feel, but still shows your local flare with the pagoda peeking through in the background. While not an obvious callout, the couple still shows their love of the San Francisco area.

Adding Personality Into Your Unique Engagement Session

June 23, 2018

It’s time for your engagement photo session and what an exciting time for you as a newly engaged couple! One of the very first questions is, “How can we showcase our personalities and how we truly are in our photos?” With the engagement consultation, my very first job is to figure out who you guys are as individuals and as a couple and see how we can translate that into the photo session! Getting to know your personalities and interests will help convey your true self during the unique engagement session and ultimately make you feel more at ease during the session.

Love A Local Art Wall, Let’s Go!

Location Location Location

Max and Jenn during their engagement consultation informed me that they got engaged at their favorite comic book store, which they often visit on weekends! When we thought about what locations to visit for shooting, it seemed obvious to go to a spot they were already very comfortable at and had a strong significance to the couple. The photos came out stunning and show Max and Jenn in their very natural state together.

Max and Jenn Showing Off Their Fun Spirit

You Being You

Besides the location, think about what qualities you both has as a couple that we can try to capture. A great first step is thinking of what words you, your family, and your friends would use to describe the two of you. Are you quirky and fun-loving like Max and Jenn? Then let’s capture you having fun as we walk, just laughing and doing what you would normally be doing if the camera wasn’t there! Are you as a couple more demure and conservative? Let’s hit a museum or art installation to capture your focus and quiet-nature! No matter what your personalities or interests, we can find the perfect way to capture them in a unique engagement session!
